What We’re Carrying (And Letting Go Of)

It’s time to get real.
We all carry things we should’ve let go of a long time ago — but letting go is tough. Sometimes, we don’t even realize the weight we’re holding is disrupting our soul.

Our soul is made up of our mind, will, and emotions. When one is off, the whole system feels it.

Lately, I’ve been working through some deep-rooted brokenness — from experiences with business partners to friendships, family, and even personal beliefs shaped by messy life moments. Just recently, someone in my life said they could handle something… but didn’t show up, again. It triggered me — hard. I felt pain I thought I had already healed. Past disappointments came flooding back, and my whole day was thrown off. My mind spun, my emotions spiraled, and I was ready to “crash out,” like the young people say.

But I had to pause.
Step back.
Find the root.

That moment reminded me: forgiveness is a journey, not a checkbox.

We’re Holding On Too Tight

I believe many of us are holding onto things that are silently weighing us down. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like our community is craving more peace, more clarity, more unity. But how can we move forward when we’re mentally and emotionally stuck?

What if the block isn’t a lack of opportunity — it’s a lack of release?
What if the next level won’t open because our hands are too full to receive it?

What Do We Gain By Letting Go?

We gain peace.
We gain clarity.
We gain community, joy, and softness.
We become lighter — and when we’re lighter, we shine brighter.
That light becomes contagious. It heals. It frees. It creates room for newness. That’s peace.

I’m In the Work Too

This isn’t just theory for me — I’m actively working through my own layers.
Not just the external stuff like work stress or broken trust, but the internal battles too.

I’m confronting my flesh — and not just in the obvious ways.
To me, the flesh shows up as:

  • Ego (needing to be right, fearing vulnerability)

  • Fear (of failure, of success, of not being enough)

  • Worry (about the future, outcomes, how I’m perceived)

  • Doubt (in my path, my gifts, my timing)

  • Temptation (to shut down, escape, or self-sabotage)

Flesh isn’t just about physical indulgence — it’s anything that pulls us out of soul alignment and into survival mode.

That’s why I’m investing in myself:
🔀 Therapy
🔀 Spiritual cohorts (shoutout to Change Church in ATL)
🔀 Soul-feeding spaces that fill me up and help me pour into others

Because healing isn’t just about being better — it’s about being whole. And when I’m serving from a whole place, I’m healing myself too.

🛠 Tools to Work Through What You're Carrying

1. Name It Without Judgment
→ Ask yourself: What am I really carrying right now?
→ Say it out loud. Write it down. Naming it softens its grip.

2. Trace the Trigger
→ When something hits you deep, pause.
Is this pain old? What does it remind you of?

3. Breathe and Create Space
→ Try a grounding breath: 4 seconds in, 4 seconds out.
→ Regulate your nervous system before you analyze your emotion.

4. Move the Energy
→ Journal. Walk. Cry. Shake. Talk it out.
→ Energy must move to be released — don’t let it get trapped.

5. Let Forgiveness Be a Process
→ Forgiveness isn’t about letting others off the hook.
→ It’s about choosing peace over resentment, moment by moment.

6. Rebuild With Intention
→ Once you’ve cleared space, fill it with what nourishes you.
→ Choose healing practices, aligned people, and soul-honoring habits.

Final Reflection

What are you still carrying that no longer serves you?

This week, give yourself permission to name it, feel it, and release it.
Not because it doesn’t matter — but because you do.

Letting go is not giving up.
It’s coming home to yourself.

The Most High can take even the deepest pain and transform it into purpose. The Highest Source makes a way through the desert places, where hope once felt lost. Jehovah has been my strength, my shelter in storms I barely survived. Nothing is impossible for Yahweh. No matter the Name, we are the sacred creation of the Creator who lives within us.

Unashamed, I lived with a suicidal mindset for 35 years – decades of quiet Spiritual Warfare and survival in the shadows. Yet, I’m still here, and that is a miracle – 3x times over, Blessed God.

I survived silently for too long. In August 2023 at 55.5 years young, I finally found the courage to say yes to healing. I began trauma therapy (eternal gratitude to Drew, my Divine conduit). I gave myself a chance.

I no longer walk with death as my companion. I have chosen life. I am learning to live whole after being taught to live in pieces.

I’m thankful for the Strangers who show up like light in the dark, and find peace in forgiving the ones who couldn’t or wouldn’t show up.

We are not fruit to be picked. We are a living system and forever ripening, learning and evolving. Give your life permission to heal. To grow. To overcome. Protect your Spirit fiercely. Guard the energy you carry and give. It shapes your reality.

When you walk in your purpose, you remember your worth. You feel the honor of being here. The duty of being whole. The grace of service. Honor YOUR transformation, YOUR survival, and YOUR Spirituality.

Thank you, Most High, for this life. I no longer take it for granted. I don’t settle for mere existence. I am grateful – to truly live.

With Love, Light, and Blessings.
Forever ripening. Forever rising. Forever aware.

We are all Jah Blessed.

Amen. Ameen. As’e. A’Ho.

This post is vulnerable. We don’t always publicly admit our emotional responses that impact others. Our rooted pains are not for someone else to avoid or heal. It’s when we take accountability and change our perspective when true nurturing happens. S/o to the self awareness.

“In the end, only three things matter; how well you loved, how gently you lived and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you. "
- Buddha

Always include God (Spirit) as it is essential for your well-being, if you just only believe in yourself as a higher power.
I love the vibe of this brand, because they are putting in the work and saving lives just by being. Thank you Derek and Family.

All Praise,
